Александр Чечитов Lupo at the edge of the galaxy

It has been about six months since Lupo Devega acquired a silvery spacecraft of extraterrestrial origin, surpassing everything previously created by mankind until that day. That's how long it took for those who set out to find and take revenge on Lupo. And at the same time, enslave the earth if possible. At the same time, government officials quickly learned about the unusual acquisition of Lupo and hastened to take advantage of the situation by sending their agents to investigate. A hot summer evening, smelling of flowers burned by the midday sun, promised to be the best this year for Lupo. At the tables, under the snow-white dome of a small restaurant named Chico un Chica, there were about three hundred guests — fellow villagers of the Devega family. Flushed with sangria, Dona Caludia Devega hugged her son tightly. Bursting into tears of maternal happiness, she recalled a lot of little funny moments from Lupo's childhood, sometimes embellishing pretty much what was typical of this area and the mores of southern people. Even Lupo himself sometimes looked up in surprise when he heard what an exemplary and wonderful boy he was at school. The cheerful and incendiary hum inherent in weddings of this magnitude became louder and louder, and of course, after a couple of hours, some of those present could not answer what they were gathered here about. If only the carved glasses with sangria would not dry out without doing something, the nightly, festive motto of the guests sounded cheerfully. Amid the noise and dancing, Lupo ran with the bride, taking with him a bottle of strong champagne and a pair of tall, thin-walled glasses. The newlyweds went to the shore of the warm sea, rustling with soft waves on small, greenish pebbles. The lovers' bare feet left shallow footprints in the wet sand, and Lupo hummed one of his favorite songs. And I drew the sky over our head

Well, what did you want to show me? Bibiena asked with undisguised curiosity, smoothing the soft folds of a short white dress on her hips. "Another ten minutes and you'll see the device yourself," Lupo answered joyfully, sweetly anticipating the delight and surprise of the young wife from the surprise.

"If you're talking about the device I thought you were using," Bibiena smiled in the dark. "You could show it in the bedroom." Without holding back, Lupo was laughing at the top of his lungs, clutching his stomach, and with him was Bibiena. They joked and hugged a lot, which significantly lengthened their path to the big cave, where the young groom wanted to get to that night. After returning from the planet Gentry, Lupo did not find a better solution than to hide the spaceship, especially not knowing to whom and how such a thing could be sold. Under a high stone vault, in the very depths of a cool, dark cave, the bright silver hull of a spaceship shone. At regular intervals, greenish lights ran from its back to its nose, and a purple line of small lamps blinked under its wide, metallic belly. The excited Lupo has seen it many times already. It was a real pleasure to watch his young wife's reaction.

Did you do that? Bibi asked naively, looking at the perfect geometric lines of the ship.

Yeah, — smiled Lupo, — and I drew the sky over our heads.

Emotion and delight were reflected on Lupo's face, and he hurried to open the spaceship. Yes, he was still surprised at the girl's naivety and how cute they could sometimes say funny things. Halfway to the spaceship, Lupo decided to fill the glasses with a sizzling drink.

"To new, wonderful achievements, — Lupo announced laughingly, raising his glass above his head. Two men in formal suits came out to block the path of the newly married couple. Both of them were about the same height and build. The clothes also had the same style and size; only the face of one of them looked more flattened. "Mr. Devega," the flat-faced man began, raising a broad, oily hand, "I'm Agent Dext. Lupo had been expecting something like this for a long time, and therefore, without hesitation, he extended his hand in response, putting off the drink for the time being. Actually, he even hoped that they would find him and make an interesting offer. A little embarrassed, Bibiena hid behind her husband's back.

"So," Agent Dext continued, "we're here to make you an interesting offer.

"Maybe we should have sold it to the Russians," Lupo suddenly thought, "they probably would have given a lot more money for the spaceship."

Don't worry about the money; the flat-faced agent continued faster, and we will pay you as much as you need.

And you are smart guys — smiling, Lupo tilted his head forward in agreement — how many pieces should I fall off? The broad-shouldered agents exchanged glances, awkwardly turning their thick necks.

"Okay, Lupo interrupted them from their thoughts — as I understand it, you need a ship. Agent Dext blinked rapidly and then nodded back.

Then drink to the health of the bride and groom. Holding out the glasses, Lupo exclaimed joyfully, We have a wedding today. Without consulting each other, the agents sent a sizzling drink into their mouths in one motion.

"Your water is strange," Agent Dext said sheepishly, rubbing his long, gray tongue with the palm of his hand. The skin on his temples suddenly swelled unevenly, sagging carelessly on his cheeks. The second agent covered his mouth, hiccupping frequently and rubbing his eyes. A minute later, large, wrinkled pieces of faded skin flew away from them, revealing a gray, slimy body underneath. They were shaking violently, and they couldn't control their movements.

What's wrong with this champagne? Bibi chattered in fright as Lupo led her inside the ship. We have to leave, — Lupo answered out of breath; the Gentrians have found me, and we will postpone the sale of the spaceship for now.

"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what's going on!" Six angry eyes leaned against the central porthole of the head compartment, and pointed fangs rotated inside the gray-green mouth. The small, fragile Bibiena was just next to the glass and saw better than her husband, a sprawled, wheezing creature.

However, I didn't really want to know — she screamed in fright, covering her eyes with her elegant palms — let's takes off already! The straps clicked on Bibi's full chest, and then Lupo buckled himself in. The micro turbines flared with a bluish light, and at the exit from the cave, there was sand fused in places. The difference in gravity made Bibiena's head spin a little, and at the same time, a pure blue planet lay on the left side of the ship. The paintings, the ones that Bibiena had only seen on the Internet before, were now right in front of her eyes. The ship was moving away quickly, and the girl wanted to get closer to the porthole by unbuckling the locking straps. Having done this, she rose up like a balloon, helplessly hovering near the ceiling.

"Oh, yes," Lupo recalled, "now. He quickly typed in the right combination of taps, turning on the increasing artificial gravity. A minute later, the gravitational field inside the spaceship corresponded to the earth's gravity. From one to the other, Bibiena stuck to the portholes, unable to tear herself away from the enchanting, cosmic landscapes.

"Hey, Lupe, — Bibi called warily, "there seems to be someone there."

Where is it? Lupo chuckled. "I saw with my own eyes how the Gentrians were left writhing in the sand.

And I say there is — Bibiena repeated angrily, pointing to the corridor — and it seems to growl. Armed with a bottle of leftover champagne. Lupo headed in the indicated direction, with Bibi following him. They carefully searched the nearest cabins and all the nooks and crannies, but could not find anything special.

Maybe you imagined it? He turned to Lupo's wife and hugged her affectionately. At this time, a loud, prolonged sound was heard somewhere at Lupo's feet, which made him jump on the spot. A triumphant expression spread across Bibi's face, and she pointed to a small piece of tie sticking out of a narrow crack in the wall.

And what should we do with them? Bibiena asked when Lupo took out two snoring bodies from a secret niche, "And they look exactly like those jerks from the cave.

Well, we won't drink champagne; otherwise, they will take on their usual appearance, and it will be much more difficult to cope with them. Besides, we have to keep at least some of the holiday booze for ourselves. Let's start by tying them up with whatever comes to hand. Before he could finish with the prisoners, Lupo felt the floor tilt under his feet, and it became almost impossible to stand upright. "There's some kind of spider web clinging to our ship outside," Bibiena shouted from the head compartment.

"And we're popular today," Lupo said, sweating and throwing the massive bodies into the nearest vacant cabin. Closing the door, he ran to his wife, knocking over a bottle of champagne on the way, so that the fragrant liquid slowly spread across the smooth, shiny floor. By this point, their ship was almost joined by the same spaceship. The hull cracked, and warning signals rang, warning of a forced approach. Having tried all known combinations of operations in vain attempts to break away from the steel embrace, Lupo froze. He thought for only a second and then accelerated forward, towards the approach. The invaders, who did not expect this, loosened their grip for a moment, and Lupe was able to turn on acceleration, ramming the alien ship. Twenty ships raced after Lupo's spaceship, deftly maneuvering among clusters of angular, sharp-nosed asteroids. The Gentrians' energy cannons fired the most powerful charges, only miraculously missing the final target. This continued until the ships emerged from the stony fog of asteroids, finding themselves in open space in front of a gaping, oval-shaped black hole. Lupo's ship picked up speed and instantly dissolved inside a dark, cosmic spot.

Hurry up after him! "This idiot Lupo is not familiar with the law of black holes," the chief of the Gentry, who led the revenge operation, shouted over the video link. We have to catch up with him before he disappears into space and time. In fact, Lupo did not know that black holes changed the so-called hyper potential of matter every millisecond. In simple terms, this meant that the cosmic bodies absorbed by the black hole were ejected each time to a new place in the universe. The end result of such a journey was not known even to the Gentrians. The bluish-green glow of a dozen fused stars illuminated the suddenly appearing hull of a silver spaceship. The slightly battered car glided smoothly through the airless space. Out of control and alone. Lupo was the first to regain consciousness. Lying on the floor, the guy slowly remembered who he was and why he was here. Having regained his memory to the end, Lupo was wildly afraid for Bibi and jumped up, screaming. Young Bibiena was lying unconscious, curled up in a ball.

"Hey, baby, — Lupe called after kissing his wife, "are you okay?" Bibi's sleepy eyes barely opened, and she smiled back. The space orientation program showed that the ship was on the edge of the galaxy, which belonged to the solar system, where Lupo was from. Turning on the controls, Lupe started back. All the way to earth, he hardly left Bibiena's side, catering to all her little requests. Already at home, Bibi burst into tears from the surging feelings, and at the same time, a strange, warm feeling appeared inside her. She did not yet understand the nature of his origin. When passing through a black hole, Bibi had the ability, or maybe she had, to control objects. Tired of the flight and Bibiena's worries, she did not pay attention to how, from her fleeting glance, the Chinese vase standing on the table in the bedroom shifted a couple of inches. The realization was still far ahead. At the same time, Lupo was standing at the closed cabin door inside the spaceship. Through the glass, he could see the terrified, crumpled faces of the agents.

"Mr. Devega, please let us out," Flatface said to Lupo. "We should have been in the office a long time ago." After waiting for the moment when both agents were at a sufficient distance from the door, Lupo pushed an entire bottle of champagne towards them. — And now, gentlemen. Drink!

But why? Flat face asked, confused. Lupo's face didn't change. He was silent and waited. Unable to get out, the agents had to give in to Lupo's request, quickly emptying the bottle. Their hungry bodies were weak, and soon both guys, heavily intoxicated, lay down on the floor.

How did you end up on my ship? Lupo asked, pulling the agents out one by one at the town square, where he took them by taxi.

"We, I, in general, these are us," the flat-faced man mumbled incoherently. Logic dictated that the Gentrians, assuming the guise of agents, turned off their consciousness, so that the guys did not even understand what had happened. The last of the Gentrians went to a black hole in the hope of catching Lupo and were frozen alive. All twenty spaceships turned into pieces of ice stone at the foot of the great cold star, which lay thousands of light-years from earth, in a split second. None of the Gentry had time to realize how it happened. This is the will of the black hole — when you exit it, you can find yourself anywhere, anytime.
