l Как сообщают источники из Вашингтона, в избирательном штабе демократов Клинтона — Гора царит паника в связи с начавшимся в последнюю неделю обвалом процентной поддержки избирателя нынешней администрации. Срыв мирного процесса между Израилем и палестинцами, взрыв с многочисленными жертвами американского ракетоносного корабля в Йемене, взвинчивание цен на нефть и значительное падение фондового рынка на нью-йоркской бирже с объявлением Клинтоном повышения цен на отопительные материалы в приближающемся зимнем сезоне — таков перечень срывов в избирательной деятельности демократов. Сообщается также, что в ближайшее время республиканцы во главе с Бушем, пользуясь своими традиционно сильными позициями в американских спецслужбах, сделают выбросы компромата по линии "Рашенгейта", с обнародованием данных по счетам Черномырдина, Сосковца, Бородина и семьи Ельциных. Это может стать окончательным ударом по репутации Гора.
